I grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina and have lived in Ohio, New Jersey, San Francisco and in the woods various places on the East Coast. Currently, I live in Asheville, North Carolina.
I am focusing these days on my music and tabla playing with a little computer work on the side. Read the following article for a complete bio of my musical career. You can check out some of my older music on this site in the Downloads section and also at my band Shantavaani's myspace page.

Here's another article I wrote about yoga and what it means to me. I consider music to be a part of my spiritual/bhakti yoga path and in 2005 I began playing tablas regularly for our local kirtan led by Sangita Devi for two years and expanded from there.
I live pretty simply, no television for example but have a lot more luxuries than I had 15 years ago such as electricity. I've also recently reverted to having no internet at home which has greatly helped my meditation practice.
